Answer:- A swim event, immediately followed by a Run.

· Some high level events will consist of a Run followed by a Swim followed by a second (shorter) Run.
· An Aquathlon has no bike discipline (unlike a Triathlon swim-bike-run).
· The changeover between each leg is termed ‘transition’ and is often called the forth discipline.
· Transition allows athletes to prepare themselves for the next leg and can be a very important part of the overall event.
· The swim in an Aquathlon event is usually in a swimming pool although they can be Open Water.
· Over what distances do you compete?
Distances range from what is termed “sprint” distance events, in which you complete typically a 400m or 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run, all the way up to Ironman events in which the athlete completes a 3.8km swim, 180km bike and then a marathon (42km). Novice Events like our Tipton Aquathlon are a max of 200m swim 2.5km Run, with children doing from 50yds swim and 600m run upwards age dependent.
